  17. A new booklet has been published by the Leukemia Society of America to help
  18. children cope with the various emotions that results when fighting leukemia
  19. and related disease. "I'm Having a Bone Marrow Transplant" is a book designed
  20. to help children with leukemia and cancer understand what it is like to have a
  21. bone marrow transplant. This potentially lifesaving medical procedure can
  22. confine a child in a hospital unit for six weeks or more. The publication is
  23. in the format of a coloring book, designed to help young patients express
  24. themselves during the trying times before, during and after the transplant.
  25. The booklet was originally produced by the University of Florida, Gainesville,
  26. and was underwritten with the proceeds from the 1991 New York Mets Wives
  27. Fashion Show, benefiting the New York Chapter. To obtain free copies call the
  28. Leukemia Society's toll-free information hot line 1-800-955-4LSA, or contact
  29. the Leukemia Society listed in your local telephone directory. The Society is
  30. a voluntary, not-for-profit health agency which depends upon public support.
